To strengthen the sustainable timber sector in the state, the Government of Amapá signed this Thursday, 9th, a technical and commercial cooperation agreement with the Government of the Marche Region, in the city of Ancona, in Italy. The objective is to boost the development of production chains, with emphasis on the wooden furniture segment.
Amapá, known for its natural diversity, is seeking new paths for its economy, this time, focusing efforts on expanding the wooden furniture industry. This union not only wants to boost local production, but also generate jobs and promote social development.
During the ratification of the agreement, vice-governor Teles Júnior highlighted that the initiative, which also includes the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) and the National Industry Service (Senai) of Amapá, is part of the policy of the State government that seeks economic development combined with environmental preservation.
“This is a strategy that can generate many opportunities for our population and the Government of Amapá is committed to economic development as the main tool for promoting social well-being. We made a pact to accelerate this agenda so that it can be translated into results by the next COP, where we can present a sustainable public policy capable of preserving the environment and at the same time generating employment and income for those who live in the Amazon”, explained the lieutenant governor.
The collaboration of these institutions will provide essential technical support to strengthen the productive sector. Marche, known for housing the largest number of mobile industries in Italy, is a strategic point for this connection with the potential of Amapá companies.
The president of Sebrae in Amapá, Josiel Alcolumbre, reinforced that through this commercial relationship agreement with Italy it will be possible to transfer technology, innovation and knowledge that will enable products made in Amapá to be known throughout the world.
“This gives us the opportunity to show Europeans and the entire world the products manufactured in the state. It is another development alternative for Amapá, respecting our forests and our biodiversity”, highlighted Alcolumbre.
