Colorado defender Gabriel Market commented on the preparation of the group of players for the debut in the Copa Libertadores de América against Independiente Medellín, this Tuesday (4th), at 9 pm, in Colombia. The defender spoke about the internal demand that the athletes themselves make for the evolution of the team and better presentations for the fans.

“What happened last week against Caxias was very difficult for us (players). We had a lot of desire to reach the final and the team showed that. Comparing the game against Caxias away and then at home, our attitude on the field was different, we created many chances to score and conceded a goal at the end of the first half that nobody expected. Now it’s time to turn the page, there will always be pressure, because we are in a big club with history. We are representing Inter, which has responsibilities in all the competitions it will play and we know the importance of this game against Independiente”.

Next, Market commented on Inter’s performance, which, for many, was the most intense game of the season. “That’s how it’s supposed to be. I think by competing that way, we’re going to be that much closer to getting what we all want. We were very sad because we lost. But we competed with intensity, we did the best we could. From then on, we will be closer and closer to achieving a victory”.

The defender also spoke about giving a response to the fans, who seek this confidence in the group of players. “We know the responsibility we have. It’s another competition, a competition that, last year, we worked hard to get here, where only the best teams play. It’s going to be very hard. The Copa Libertadores is not easy and for that we have to be physically and mentally prepared, in addition to playing a good game”.

Finally, Market answered how the group is working to recover the performance shown in 2022. “There is a charge to try to improve, to insist. Win or lose, there are always things to work on. Mano knows exactly the things we did more, and he’s trying to get us to meet again at the level we saw last year”.
