Professional pianists and students of the classical instrument will have the opportunity to participate, free of charge, in the piano masterclass taught by Mexican Andrea García Lascurain. The initiative, promoted by the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, in partnership with the Lyceum of Arts and Crafts Claudio Santoro, will take place on February 7th, from 2pm to 4pm, in the piano room of the Cultural Center Palace of Justice, Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, Center

10 places will be available for participants and 20 places for listeners, aged 8 and over and with basic piano knowledge. Registration is done via the link for participants (students and professionals) from January 31st to February 2nd; and for listeners from February 3rd to 4th.

Participants must first send the score of the piece that will be presented, in PDF format, to email [email protected]within the stipulated registration period.

For the general manager of Liceu de Artes e Ofício Claudio Santoro, Ruth Madeira, the masterclass brings numerous advantages, which go beyond technique, expanding the repertoire and the exchange of experiences.

“The masterclass is of great importance for piano practitioners in our city. She has extensive experience in a repertoire of masterpiece concerts, ranging from classical to more modern and contemporary arrangements and extensive stage experience in countries such as Mexico and Canada, including the experience she has today in her current musical academy ( Musikala Estudio), where he teaches piano in Spanish, English or French, which has been attracting students from all over the world”, said the manager.

“During the masterclass, it will contribute in a fundamental way to the acquisition of new techniques to improve performance, in addition to promoting a meeting of pianists, facilitating networking between people”, concludes Ruth Madeira, adding that the initiative it also reinforces the demand for piano classes at the Liceu, currently with 76 students enrolled.

Andrea Lascurain is one of the most celebrated pianists in Mexico today, having revealed her talent in several Mexican cities and prestigious theaters such as the Simón Bolívar Anfiteatro para Música UNAM, the Lunario of the National Auditorium in Mexico City, the Metropolitan Theater of Querétaro and the Experimental Theater of Querétaro.

Furthermore, his performances crossed national borders, captivating audiences in Quebec, Canada, and at Teatro Amazonas, in Brazil. His repertoire covers a wide range of musical genres, from classical masterpieces to modern and contemporary arrangements.
