Involved by Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid in an alleged coup plot, former international advisor to the Presidency Filipe Martins was invited by the PL to work for the party at the beginning of the year.

He would perform a role in the party similar to the one he had in the Palácio do Planalto, being responsible for the party’s external contacts area. The salary would be around R$15 thousand.

Martins tried to accept, but ended up backing down. He said he had other projects. According to the Panel, it weighed in on the assessment that it would not be prudent to remain in the spotlight at a time when a judicial siege of Bolsonarism was already taking shape. It has since submerged.

According to Cid, it was Martins who took then-president Jair Bolsonaro a draft with a coup proposal for him to analyze.

During the Bolsonaro government, the former advisor was part of the most ideological nucleus, which had the philosopher Olavo de Carvalho as its guru.
