For the first time in history, Brazil will play in black, in a duel against Guinea – News of Brazil

For the first time in 109 years of history, the Brazilian men’s soccer team will take to the field with a completely black uniform. The unprecedented fact will take place next Saturday (17), in a friendly against Guinea, in Barcelona (Spain). The initiative, announced this Monday (12) by the CBF, is part of a series of actions organized by the entity to combat racism.
The CBF’s decision to take a stand in the fight against racism in the friendly in Spain was taken three days after striker Vinicius Júnior, from Real Madrid, suffered racial discrimination in the national LaLiga championship. On the last day 21, the Brazilian was the target of racist insults – in the 2-1 defeat to Valencia – for the 10th time in a row in the competition.
The selection will play the entire first half with the black shirt in the match against Guinea, on Saturday (17), starting at 4:30 pm (Brasília time), at the RCDE Stadium, in the capital of Catalonia. After the break, the team temporarily led by Ramon Menezes will play with the yellow shirt, which will also allude to the fight against racism.
The first game of the Brazilian team took place in 1914, with the white uniform (shirts and shorts). After 71 years, Brazil adopted the classic hopscotch with blue shorts for the first time.
