With the aim of deepening the debate on public policies and, in particular, on the people behind them, the Sheet renewed its partnership with Instituto República.org for another season of the Vida Pública publishing group.
Over the course of a year, reports produced in the section revealed innovative government initiatives, told the stories of public servants who stood out in their areas of activity and showed the reaction of State institutions to the turmoil that marked the period, such as the coup invasion of the headquarters of the three Powers.
In the new phase, the idea is to go further and deepen the debate on the public service, which is undergoing changes in the face of greater knowledge accumulated in the country about public policies, technological changes and the social crisis in the country.
Part of this reflection is already present in the Público do Futuro series, which debuted in January.
“República.org understands that it is necessary to talk about the State if we intend to develop as a country with more equity and growth. No other agent can claim to have the capacity, scale, resources, legitimacy and incentives of the government to solve the biggest problems social services”, says Helena Wajnman, executive director of the institute.
“People are the greatest asset of any government and need to be valued and well managed.”
The critical spirit, plurality and non-partisanship, basic points of the Sheet, permeate the publications, which dialogue with the other editorials. The core is commanded by journalist Jairo Marques.
“Editorial partnerships ensure the journalism practiced by Sheet total autonomy to check, edit and publish its contents”, explains Roberto de Oliveira, editor of Special Projects & Partnerships.
“There are other projects in partnership with the Redaction in progress, all of them guided by non-partisanship, pluralism and critical and independent journalism, outstanding characteristics in the DNA of the Sheet“, says Oliveira.
