Rubro-Negro Carioca will have a week off until the next commitment for Cariocão
O Flamengo defeated Madureira 3-0 and won the Guanabara Cup, this Saturday (2), at Maracanã. Arrascaeta, Pedro and Léo Pereira scored the goals for Tite’s team.
With the triumph, Rubro-Negro ends the Guanabara Cup undefeated with 27 points and at the top of the competition. On the other hand, Madureira remains provisionally in 8th place with 10 points.

In the initial stage, Flamengo controlled the match and opened the scoring against Madureira with Arrascaeta taking advantage of a header in the area and hitting it first time to fill the net. Without being threatened, Rubro-Negro almost increased the score with Viña risking a shot from midfield for a beautiful save by goalkeeper Mota.
In the second half, Tite’s team continued to adopt the same stance and increased the score with Pedro pressing Madureira’s exit in the attacking field, regaining possession and filling the net after just six minutes. And Léo Pereira closed the match with a beautiful goal from a free kick.

With no commitments in the middle of the week, Flamengo is waiting to meet its opponent in the semi-finals of the Campeonato Carioca. Rubro-Negro will play again in the state next weekend, but the date has not yet been set.
