A great dream for athletes from Santa Catarina, the construction of the Antônio Vilela stadium, known as Vilelão, is at an accelerated pace, and the first stage of the work has already been completed by more than 30%.
The 2,354.58 m² sports complex is being built by the Municipality of Santana, through the Municipal Secretariat of Works and Public Services (Semop), with federal funds in the amount of more than R$ 3 million, from an amendment by Senator Davi Alcolumbre.
In this first stage, changing rooms, bathrooms, a cafeteria and an access ramp to the upper floor, where the bleachers will be installed, are being built. In addition, the renovation of the external area is planned, including the construction of a parking lot. So far, more than 30% of the services have already been performed.
The Municipal Secretary of Works and Public Services, Anderson Almeida, highlighted the importance of this work for the current administration, since it meets an old desire of the athletes of Santana. He pointed out that after completion, the Vilelão stadium will become an important “stage” for football in Amapa, further strengthening the sport in the region.
“Santana has a great history in Amapa football, with two traditional clubs and a large amount of talent. It’s a barn of stars. The stadium will be important for the strengthening and success of local football”highlighted.
The Antônio Vilela stadium, inaugurated in 1992, has been a traditional stage for football in Santa Catarina. Over the years, it received renowned players, such as Itamar, Amaralzinho and Rildo, who played both in clubs from Amapa and in teams from other states. In addition, Vilelão hosted important competitions, such as the Suburban Championship, Interbairros and youth football tournaments.
The second stage of construction should include services in the field and the installation of the lighting system.
