The coach of the Brazilian Under-19 women’s basketball team, Adriana Mafra, called up 17 players to compete in the World Cup in the category, from July 15th to 23rd in Madrid, Spain. Among those summoned is the amapaense Diully Silva, 19 years old, who plays for Sesi Araraquara (SP).
This is not the first time that Diully is summoned to defend Brazil, in basketball. She was playing in the Brazilian under-18 team, in 2022, during the AmeriCup, in Buenos Aires (Argentina). In addition, the athlete already has the title of the Paulista Adult Women’s Championship and the U-17 Brazil Cup on her side.
The Brazilian team was in Group C, along with Japan, Lithuania and Italy. Due to the dispute format, all teams advance to the second phase, when there will be an elimination round. Brazil crosses with Group C which has Egypt, Canada, China and the Czech Republic.
Those called up will initially participate in a training period in Araraquara (SP), starting on June 23 and then head to Nice, France, where they will end their preparation by playing friendlies against France.
