The rules for the Unified National Public Competition (CPNU), nicknamed the “Enem of competitions”, were detailed, this Wednesday (10), by the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) with the announcement of eight notices divided by areas of expertise. There are 6,640 vacancies for 21 government-linked bodies that have joined the selection system. The majority of positions, 5,948, are aimed at candidates with higher education and 692 at secondary level candidates. (see list below)

Of the total vacancies, 5% will be reserved for people with disabilities (PWDs) and 20% for black people. For Funai positions, the percentage of vacancies allocated to indigenous people is 30%.

The selection, which for the first time is carried out in a unified manner at a national level, aims to guarantee equal access to permanent public positions for all regions of the country. “This promotes representation and diversity”, says the Minister of Management, Ester Dweck.

How will the Enem dos Concursos work?

Registration for CPNU runs from January 19th to February 9th. Only one registration per CPF will be permitted, upon payment of a registration fee of R$60, for secondary education places, or R$90, for higher education places. Bolsa Família beneficiaries and low-income candidates registered with CadÚnico will be entitled to exemption.

The competition is expected to attract 2 million to 3 million candidates. They must choose a sector of activity and, among the vacancies available in the different bodies, and which positions they want to apply for in order of preference.

Organized by the Cesgranrio Foundation, the tests will be administered on May 5th, in two shifts, morning and afternoon, simultaneously in 220 cities. (see list below)

There will be common objective tests, with 20 general knowledge questions, in the morning. Higher-level candidates will undergo essay and specific tests according to each thematic block chosen at the time of registration. For those at secondary level, an essay will be applied.

In the afternoon, higher-level candidates will take specific knowledge tests involving 50 questions. The mid-level assessment will have 40 questions.

According to the announced schedule, the results of the competition will be published on July 30th and the first calls will be announced from August 5th. Salaries range from R$3,700 to R$22,900, the highest salary, for the position of labor inspector at the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
