FIFA report points out that Brazil is the biggest exporter of players

FIFA released this Thursday (26) the 2022 Global Transfer Report. Brazil appeared as a leader in some statistics, especially those related to the export of athletes.
REPORT POINTS IN MEN’S FOOTBALL
– Brazilian athletes were the ones who transferred the most. 2,061 players changed clubs, moving US$ 843.2 million (approximately R$ 4.2 billion at current exchange rates).
– In all, 20,209 transfers took place in football in 2022 – an increase of 11.6% compared to 2021. Of these negotiations, 2,842 involved financial compensation between clubs, totaling 6.5 billion dollars (R$ 33 billion).
– Brazil is first in the world in exports of athletes, with 998, and second in imports, with 857.
– Teams from Brazil received U$ 267.2 million (R$ 1.3 billion) and spent U$ 107.9 million (R$ 548 million).
– The most common transfer in the world is for a player to leave Brazil and go to Portugal. This happened 338 times. The reverse path occurred on 166 occasions, the second most recurrent in the ranking.
– For the first time in history, a country broke the $2 billion barrier. English clubs spent approximately BRL 11.1 billion in 2022.
– Three Brazilians appear among the most expensive sales of 2022: Antony, Casemiro and Raphinha. The Manchester United striker is third in the ranking, behind Aurélien Tchouaméni (Real Madrid) and Darwin Núñez (Liverpool).
REPORT POINTS ON WOMEN’S FOOTBALL
– 1,555 transfers took place in women’s football, 19.3% above the old record set in 2021.
– These negotiations, added, moved U$ 3.3 million (R$ 16.7 million).
– 88 Brazilian players transferred, placing the country in second place in the ranking of nationalities. Only the United States is ahead, with 164.
– Brazil is eighth in the world in exports of athletes, with 50, and twentieth in imports, with 20.
