One of the dreams of athlete Felipe Cabocão, who died in May of this year, was to be able to give children and teenagers the opportunity to become professional jiu-jitsu athletes. Now, that dream is taking shape and becoming a reality. Since 2022, Instituto Felipe ‘Cabocão’ Colares has been idealized and is expected to be ready soon.
“Ever since we met, Felipe said that his dream was to create an Institute that could, through sport, give opportunities to underprivileged children and families, mainly in Pedrinhas – the neighborhood where he was born – and also in his state, in order to that these children can, like him, become professional athletes and great world stars. Yes! Instituto Felipe “Cabocão” Colares is getting off the ground and will soon be ready to receive the community”wrote the athlete’s wife, Jacqueline Amaral, on her social network.
Another project is to create a documentary to tell Cabocão’s story, from his childhood to his arrival in the UFC, the challenges, difficulties and victories he conquered. In addition, the family requested that the street where he grew up, in the Pedrinhas neighborhood, be named after him.
The procedures, such as the creation of the CNPJ and all the rules that govern an institute, are already being resolved and the project will have supporters and sponsors for its operation. For more information about the project, contact the numbers (96) 98132-6042 and (21) 96532-1337.
