Resources for the acquisition of equipment were directed by state deputy Delegado Péricles

Manaus (AM) – In order to improve the project to Strengthen Therapeutic Endoscopy in Amazonas, state deputy Delegado Péricles (PL) allocated resources to the Cecon Foundation (FCecon) for the acquisition of an Argon Plasma Coagulator and other equipment that makes up the instrument. The Argon Plasma Coagulator is the first available in the Unified Health System (SUS) of Amazonas.

The equipment was delivered on Friday (29), at the FCecon headquarters, in the Center-West area of ​​Manaus. In addition to the Coagulator, a Microprocessed Electronic Scalpel and an Endoscopic Irrigation Pump were delivered.

The purchases are part of a parliamentary amendment by deputy Delegate Péricles, worth R$800,000, to help combat colon and rectal cancer, and stomach and esophageal cancer in the State. This year, the parliamentarian had already allocated around R$ 1,018 thousand for the project, which made it possible to acquire a high-definition video endoscopy system with Chromoscopy and Magnification.

On the occasion of the delivery, Péricles spoke of the importance of contributing in such an important area for the population, with the delivery of the first Argon Plasma Coagulator equipment for the Amazonas public health network.

With this device, which is the first available in a public hospital in the State, patients who undergo treatment may not need to go to health units more often, whether in outpatient clinics or urgent and emergency services, generating savings for the healthcare network. health”,

On the occasion, FCecon’s CEO, doctor Gerson Mourão, thanked the deputy for his attention in helping the Foundation, with effective and life-saving improvements. “This device is of fundamental importance to us here at FCecon, because many patients died because they bled a lot and were unable to afford this treatment in the private network and now we will have it here. We appreciate the sensitivity of the deputy, who is always willing to help FCecon”, he said.

The head of Endoscopy at the hospital unit, doctor Marcelo Tapajós, also thanked the deputy, explaining the importance of the Argon Plasma Coagulator for the State. “It is a piece of equipment that has multiple functions. Patients who undergo radiotherapy often have complications that cause recurrent bleeding and without any treatment, they return to the unit several times. With this equipment, this will now change for many patients. I thank our deputy for once again donating this resource that we are using for the benefit of the population”, declared the doctor.
