Manaus (AM) – Faculdade Santa Teresa (FST) is open for registration, until Saturday (24), for the first entrance exam for the institution’s Medicine course, in Manaus. The test will be held on Monday (26), from 2pm to 6pm, at the FST headquarters, on Rua Acre, 200, Nossa Senhora das Graças neighborhood.

With the opening of the new course, evaluated with a maximum score of 5 by the Ministry of Education (MEC), the maintainer of FST, Maria do Carmo Seffair, considers that the institution takes an important step towards becoming a reference in the training of medical professionals, in the Amazon.

According to the course coordinator, infectious disease doctor Maria das Graças Alecrim, the degree was designed and structured to offer complete training to students, with an approach to active methodologies and support from medical professors who are references in their areas of expertise. Active methodologies, she says, allow students to acquire practical skills from the beginning of the course.

“To this end, partnerships are maintained with other public medical institutions. In this way, the student has direct contact with real cases and situations in the profession”,

emphasizes Maria das Graças Alecrim.

Just like in other courses at Santa Teresa, where encouraging entrepreneurship is an important pillar of professional training, in Medicine the topic will also be constantly worked on with students. “The proposal is to present to future doctors the different market possibilities that can be explored throughout their training”, he said.

According to the coordinator, other differences of the Medicine course are the use of educational technology, as a support for expanding knowledge, encouraging research and modern infrastructure, with cutting-edge laboratories for teaching classes.

The director of FST, Amanda Estald, highlights that the college has been working to offer an increasingly better space to students. The institution recently underwent modernization, making the spaces, especially the common areas, much more spacious and welcoming.

In addition to the Medicine course, FST offers degrees in Administration, Accounting Sciences, Logistics, Law, Fashion Design, Pedagogy, Psychology, Architecture and Urban Planning, Pharmacy, Biomedicine, Nutrition, Nursing, Dentistry and Gastronomy.
