Event with Delúbio and Vaccari has tietagem, talks about box 2 and fans against Moro – 04/16/2023 – Politics

Former PT treasurers Delúbio Soares and João Vaccari Neto, pivotal in the party’s scandals, participated this Sunday (15) in an event that featured the duo, talks about cash 2 in campaigns and even cheers for the former judge and senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil) is arrested.

The debate had a few dozen militants and was held in Carapicuíba (Greater SP), in a club of the Commerce Workers Union of Osasco and Region.

The event entitled “When Politics Uses Justice” had as its motto a version of both PT members, who declare themselves innocent of the monthly allowance and Lava Jato.

Delúbio was convicted in the monthly allowance and later arrested for money laundering in Lava Jato. Recently, however, a decision by the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) nullified the action against him, considering that the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba did not have competence to prosecute him and sent the case to the Electoral Court.

“Criminal today, this citizen who is speaking to you has no criminal proceedings in progress. I won them all”, said Delúbio, who, during the event, distributed a small magazine with the name “Delúbio Soares, the defendant without crime”.

He also stated that he never did anything wrong and that he was placed as “the most nefarious guy on the face of the Earth”, in a criticism of the media.

The former treasurer of the PT claimed to have paid “a very big sacrifice” for the conviction in the monthly allowance, but that he may initiate a criminal review process if there are political conditions for this.

Delúbio spoke about campaign financing at the time of the case and said that the practice of slush funds was usual. “At that time it was usual. We campaigned and received what the businessmen wanted to give the money”, he said.

He stated, however, that there was never a purchase of deputies, according to the complaint. Instead, he cited unaccounted expenditure payments from allied parties.

Vaccari also made a speech critical of the operations, such as political actions to harm the PT. Speaking of him, he even cited the protests against the 2013 tariff as an act in this sense.

Vaccari defines Lava Jato as a process to bury the PT and criminalize Lula. “Innumerable were the headlines that they were going to put an end to the PT, that the PT would be closed by decision of the Justice. Today, after the confusion, how many lawsuits does the PT have? None”, he said.

Convicted in second instance for passive corruption in three cases, he was arrested in April 2015 during the Lava Jato operation. He benefited from the Christmas pardon granted by former President Michel Temer (MDB) and left prison in September 2019.

Vaccari says he has been acquitted in about 10 lawsuits and responds to around seven. “I was the one from Lava Jato to be arrested. I was the treasurer, nothing better than calling the guy who handles money a thief. It’s easy,” he said.

The former treasurer reported the experience of having spent 1,483 days in prison and even made a prediction that he would see Sergio Moro being arrested.

“Another thing I’ve always said: we’re still going to see Sergio Moro being arrested. I don’t know why, but he’s going to be arrested,” he said.

Both Vaccari and Delúbio were strongly applauded by the audience, which did not include any high-ranking PT politician. In the end, both former treasurers of the party still posed for selfies with the public.
