The traditional Milton de Souza Corrêa Stadium, affectionately known as Zerão, is ready to host state and national football and athletics competitions with the presence of the public in 2023.
After evaluation by the Fire Department and the Military Police, carried out this week, 3.1 thousand fans were released in the stands. The maximum capacity of Zerão is 4,984,000 people.
The State Secretariat for Infrastructure (Seinf) has already made adjustments such as reinforcement of lighting and, mainly, emergency exit signs both in the stands and in the locker rooms.
The only stadium in Amapá with official measures for holding games, Zerão should host this year, youth and amateur category tournaments and the men’s and women’s professional championships, the latter being already in progress.
Zerão is also prepared to host national tournaments such as the Copa do Brasil, Copa Verde and Série D do Brasileirão, competitions in which Amapá receives clubs from several states.
In January, the Secretary of State for Sports and Leisure (Sedel), responsible for the stadium, maintained the lawn, as well as the stands.
In addition to being the scene of great emotions in football and athletics, Zerão also develops sports schools in these modalities, helping to reveal new talents from Amapa.
