Environmental imbalances are wounds in the Earth’s womb – 10/03/2023 – Environment

The Earth welcomes us, feeds us, protects us and provides the conditions for us to live in harmony with all the beings that share this sacred territory with us. With great generosity, it shelters thousands of animal, vegetable and mineral beings, which, like a great web, relate to and collaborate with the transforming flow of life.

But in a very disrespectful way, with their hard and heavy footprints, humans managed to unbalance the abode of many spirits. Rethinking and redoing this journey begins with the regeneration of Gaia, the planet Earth, weaving possibilities to extinguish the mental monoculture that reduces and separates everything.

Since the beginning of the colonization processes, our world’s grandmother, the Earth, has been injured, raped, contaminated by human actions that have totally modified the home of many beings. Today we live in the midst of several imbalances and serious consequences of these wounds, which are concentrated in the womb of the ancestral grandmother.

Centuries of reason and scientific development have not been able to respect the natural flow of life. In a relentless quest for control, humans have distanced themselves from nature and turned everything into a commodity.

Historically, genocide has exterminated many cultures, and ethnocide remains latent, silencing original languages ​​and ancestral spiritualities. There is also ecocide, which contaminates the Earth’s veins, the rivers, causing such profound destruction that we will possibly not live to see and feel its transformation and healing.

The principle of education should be to sow respect and guide children and young people towards the path of good living, but unfortunately we are shaped by a colonial educational model, which values ​​theories and encourages competition.

In this way, it is necessary to dream more and seek ways to pulsate in many territories living schools, where the essence will be to resume the principles of respect for our Earth and to make sprout in each being the understanding that each one of us has the responsibility to follow an ethical commitment to life.

If everyone could see more broadly, they would realize that all forms of life matter. Paca mothers, agouti mothers, otter mothers, jaguar mothers, all beings deserve respect, not just human lives.

If there were no environmental racism, we would possibly not be witnessing these wounds in the Earth’s womb —some call it climate change, but spiritual leaders in the four corners of the world see and hear the pain and groans that our grandmother has been feeling.

Mining, agribusiness, real estate speculation, social inequality, religious intolerance, the lack of political will to develop sustainable projects of balance and respect are a sign that our humanity is too sick.

Weaving again these plots of the great web of life requires us humans to make the breath of our words walk in the same rhythm as our feet. Think, speak and do, with care and affection.

In the forest, many creative beings live, and the guardian spirits of everything that lives in it are watching us. They are angry with our maladjusted way of walking. It is necessary to relearn to walk smoothly on Earth otherwise we will all die as a result of our own waste, greed and contradictions.

However, while the maracas are sounding in the prayer houses, the men and women prayers chanting good and beautiful words, and the children singing and enchanting the world, there will still be possibilities for the regeneration of the deep interior of our grandmother, the Earth.
