Environment and PGR did not meet on environmental agenda – 04/06/2023 – Panel
[ad_1]
Attorneys who take care of the environmental agenda in the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) have criticized the performance of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
He says that so far, Minister Marina Silva has not sought out the PGR to find out about actions to prevent and combat deforestation, nor to find out how prosecutors can help with the portfolio’s challenges.
The ministry, on the other hand, informs that there was no request for an agenda by the prosecutors, nor by the PGR itself, Augusto Aras.
The folder points out that the two bodies are working together through some actions coordinated with ICMBio and Ibama. The fight against gold mining in the Yanomami Indigenous Land is an example of this coordinated effort.
