Enrollment open: program offers more than 230 scholarships for young people from public schools

Somos, the main Basic Education company in Brazil, which belongs to Cogna, the largest education group in Brazil and one of the largest in the world, is accepting applications for the Somos Futuro scholarship program.

The initiative is by Instituto Somos, the social arm of Somos Educação, which since 2017 has already benefited 689 young people. Opportunities are aimed at students from public schools and with low socioeconomic conditions.

In all, 230 scholarships will be offered in 74 municipalities in 18 states throughout Brazil, including Acre, Amazonas, Tocantins, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District. The selection process for the Somos Futuro 2024 program is open until August 13th.

To participate, candidates must be enrolled in the 9th grade of elementary school II in a public school in 2023, have completed a maximum of 15 years this year, in addition to presenting good academic performance in the last three years and having gross family income, per person. , a maximum of two minimum wages.

Application and selection process

To enter the first phase of the selection process, interested parties must fill out the application form available on the program’s website, respond to the socioeconomic questionnaire, indicate the school of choice and send two videos: one talking about why the candidate deserves to be a scholarship holder and the other another telling about how his family will support him on this journey.

The selection process comprises four eliminatory stages: socioeconomic analysis, online academic evaluation, interview with volunteers from the Institute, interview with students and guardians at the chosen school.

In addition to starting the 2024 academic year at one of the program’s partner schools with 100% tuition waiver, the benefits offered to students approved in the program include teaching and educational material from the Somos Educação portfolio, online tutoring and mentoring, in addition to access to the program’s entire support network, which includes psychological follow-up.
