Unselected candidates may apply for the waiting list

The deadline for those selected in the regular call of the Unified Selection System (Sisu), referring to the second half of 2023, to enroll directly in educational institutions ends this Tuesday (4). Each institution has its own announcement, where it defined the days, times and places of attendance of the candidates. And it is up to the candidates to verify this information.

The result of Sisu’s single call was released by the Ministry of Education (MEC) on June 27, on the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education. Applications are open from Thursday (29).

According to MEC, in all, the second edition of 2023 of the federal program had 305,797 applicants. Candidates who took the 2022 National High School Examination (Enem) and obtained a score greater than zero in the writing test were able to register for free. However, the student who took the Enem as a trainer will not be able to compete for vacancies.

Waiting list

Candidates who were not selected in Sisu’s regular call, in this second semester, can express interest in joining the waiting list until 23:59 (Brasília time) also this Tuesday, through the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education.

The new call for candidates on the waiting list for registration is scheduled for July 10 and will be made by the educational institutions themselves.

The student should seek information about waiting list appointments at the same institution for which he applied. Calls are managed and carried out by the units.

The Unified Selection System manages the vacancies offered to candidates by universities and public institutions of higher education, throughout the country, twice a year, once per semester. Through the federal program, the student enrolls for free to compete for the vacancy. If selected and enrolled within the deadline, the student will not pay monthly fees, as he/she will be entering a public higher education institution.

Sisu’s notice provides that participating public institutions of higher education adopt minimum and/or minimum average scores for enrolling in their courses, such as bachelor’s or teaching degrees.
