Enem’s question was canceled for failing in the 2010 test

Inep (National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira) canceled a question from the second day of the National High School Exam (Enem) 2023, held this Sunday (12), the second day of the test. The body identified that the question had already been used in the Enem PPL (for people deprived of liberty) in 2010.

This is not the first time the problem has occurred. In 2018, a mathematics question was canceled because it had already failed in a test at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in 2014.

Manuel Palácios, president of Inep, indicated that the body is aware that, to avoid this problem, the question bank needs to be expanded. Inep, according to him, is “taking steps to strengthen the entire team that works on building the items and preparing the Enem tests.”

“We are planning to publish a new notice. It should come out at the beginning of January, a notice for the selection of item creators and reviewers. We are going to make a more significant effort to mobilize our universities and the pedagogical coordinations of the different secretariats of education, so that we can bring together a more significant group of drafters and reviewers”, said Palácios.

This Sunday, when the natural sciences and mathematics tests were held, 32% of participants did not appear for the exam. The number is similar to last year, when abstention on the second day was 31.9%.

A problem that happened last Sunday (5) occurred again this Sunday: images of the test were circulated around 5 pm, before the time allowed for publishing the question book, which is 6 pm. However, there was no leak before the start of the test on any of the days.
