Manaus (AM) – In allusion to the National Day of Education Professionals, celebrated this Sunday (6), learn about the history of professionals who change lives through their actions in the school environment. Instituted by Law n.º 13.054, the date celebrates the qualified work of professionals who deal with education in the school space and with the formation of the new generations.

Among pedagogues, teachers, general service assistants, cooks, managers, concierge and administrative agents, the Department of Education’s staff is extensive, in all there are more than 30 thousand servants and they have inspiring stories. These are the professionals who are involved in the daily lives of students in the state education network, contributing to the future of Amazonas and Brazil.

This is the case of Maria da Conceição, who has been working as a general service assistant in state schools for 37 years. Since 2010, Maria has been part of the professional staff at Colégio Amazonense Dom Pedro II, in the center of Manaus, and says that she has always treated students as members of the family.

“I can retire now, but I don’t think about it. During all these years, I say that I have formed several and several students. I prefer to be here, beside them. I feel as if I were the mother of all of them, as if they were my children, my grandchildren. I feel very loved and fulfilled here at school”,

told Mary.

As well as cleaning and organizing the schools, the kitchen is also an important moment in the school routine of the more than 600 teaching units in the state network. And it is in this environment that Bruno Leitão works, a cook in the chain since 2017, graduated in Gastronomy and Chemistry and post-graduated in Sanitary Surveillance and Food Quality, from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA).

The professional says that he has always sought to be actively involved in the school community and, in 2019, he got approval for a project, by the Amazonas State Research Support Foundation (Fapeam), aimed at the quality of school lunches. Bruno also teaches, through the National Learning Service (Senac), the Kitchen Assistant course at the State School (EE) Deputy Josué Cláudio de Souza, the unit where he works.

“The professional who prepares school meals conveys his knowledge and love for education through flavor. For our profession, there is no better feeling than hearing their feedback after lunch: ‘Uncle, uncle, the lunch today was great!’. I always think of them as the future of our generation, so I try my hardest.”

Bruno shared.

Learn to Teach

Among those who are inside the classrooms and in the management of schools, they follow the motto that in order to teach, you must first learn. And that’s how Professor Geovani Dantas works at EE Antônio da Encarnação Filho, in the West Zone of the capital. Geovani is a Special Education teacher and has been working with teaching and learning for over 20 years.

“Special Education was seen, for a long time, with disdain, as something for the minority. Today, it is seen as a necessity and a partner for all. To include is to love and it is also our obligation. I have the feeling of accomplishment every time a student passes by my path and that I manage to contribute, with a teaching, a caress, an advice. Education is transformative

highlighted the teacher.

In addition to those who manage the classrooms, there are also professionals who manage the entire school. The highest position in a teaching unit, the school manager is responsible for coordinating the school team and together ensuring the smooth running of the school. And this is the routine that manager Graciene Ferreira has been dealing with for 30 years at EE Herberth Palhano, in the Nossa Senhoras das Graças neighborhood, in the Center-South Zone of Manaus.

“The story of my life can be told within a school, as a manager and, even so, with so much experience, I could not carry out my role without the support of my team. That’s why, on that date, I want to congratulate all education professionals. Teaching is a collective function”,

account.

Inspiration stories can also be found in other functions of the school space. As an articulator of pedagogical and interpersonal actions in a teaching unit, the pedagogue has the function of facilitating the student’s life. This is the definition of the profession, according to pedagogue Márcia Dolzano, who has been working at the Professor Djalma da Cunha Batista State School for Full Time Bilingual (EETI) for 22 years.

The school is also a space for organization, formalities and bureaucratic procedures. And it is the job of administrative professionals to deal with all kinds of school documentation, such as student records and files, enrollments, transfers, social programs, performance indicators, certificates. In this role for 12 years, the secretary and administrative manager of EETI Marcantonio Vilaça II, Rozangela Cabral, is an example of a professional in the area.

This is our job”, emphasized AGP Ricardo Rodrigues, who has been working in the role for eight years and is now working at EE Professora Karla Patrícia Barros de Azevedo, in Tarumã, West Zone.
