According to the organization, the plan is to triple the number of community libraries throughout the Amazon territory, reaching 300 spaces. The proposal is to encourage reading, writing and orality in a shared space of knowledge for the benefit of children from rural, riverside, roadside, indigenous and quilombola communities. 🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏽 Amigos do Bem Since 1993, the social project has been active in the outback of Alagoas, Pernambuco and Ceará with the aim of impacting the lives of people who live in isolated villages. In terms of education, Amigos do Bem has four educational and professional centers that offer complete services to children and young people: infrastructure, education, food, transportation, uniforms and teaching materials. To combat school dropout and social exclusion, the project also supports schools in the region in the development of educational, administrative and pedagogical activities, aimed at improving the quality of teaching from Kindergarten to Elementary School II. 🎓 Uefs and support for indigenous students The Bahian city of Feira de Santana has a population of more than 1.1 indigenous people. In order to support students, the State University of Feira de Santana (Uefs) offers a residence only for indigenous people and financial aid, according to the pro-rectory coordinator for Affirmative Policies and Student Affairs (PROPAAE), Renata Dias Souza. Affirmative policies at UEFS began in 2007, when the residence for indigenous students was created. In this first half of 2023, 61 self-declared students are actively enrolled and distributed in 10 more courses, such as Law, Engineering, Agronomy, Medicine, Dentistry, Pedagogy and Psychology. 📲 Ubíqua Institute Since 2011, the Ubíqua Institute has been working to professionalize young people from rural areas and the periphery, in social communication and new technologies. Among the courses available at Educar Nestante are: social media analyst, website construction in wordpress and specialization in multimedia reporting. ✌🏽✌🏼✌🏻 Young Leaders for Peace The Young Leaders for Peace project is an initiative conceived by former public school students and currently implemented in partnership with the Commission for Urgency for Peace in Schools of the Government of the Federal District with the aim of reduce school violence. The three founders of the initiative, Eduardo Vasconcelos, Isabela and Isadora Rodrigues. suffered from the high level of insecurity in the school environment and, therefore, created the project to promote activities and help manage the implementation of a culture of peace in public schools. The Young Leaders for Peace Project works as follows: in public schools, students are elected by their peers or chosen by the school board to be Young Leaders for Peace. There are schools with 10 Young Leaders for Peace and others with 60, the number being chosen so that they can impact the entire student body. In all, there are more than 105 in the DF. ☮️ CIAC Located in Fortaleza, Ceará, the Integrated Community Actions Center (CIAC) is an initiative of the Samura Foundation aimed at developing early childhood education programs based on human values, with universal values ​​as guiding principles: peace, love, truth, right action and non-violence. The idea was born from the need to add sustainability values ​​to the work carried out by Creche-Escola Samura, and due to the expansion of the services provided, the opportunity arose to improve and add new equipment for community use. 🤝🏽 Associação Vamos Based in Bacabal, Maranhão, the philanthropic, educational and social assistance organization Associação Vamos offers services and projects with the work of pedagogues, social educators, members of social movements, liberal professionals and students. The proposal is to serve children, adolescents and young people living in peripheral neighborhoods and offer projects focused on self-esteem, education and technology.
