Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) said, this Thursday (10), that the Republicans “is a leftist party”. The son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) criticized the rapprochement between the party and the Lula government (PT), increasing the pressure from the right for Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) to leave the party.

The ministerial reform being negotiated by the PT should attract the Republicans and the PP to the base of the federal government. In reaction to this, Tarcísio said, on Wednesday (9), that he is considering leaving his party.

Legend deputies claim that the party will not act in favor of Lula and that, therefore, the governor should remain affiliated. In their reading, the fact that a deputy is part of Lula’s ministry does not bind all Republicans to the base.

Eduardo Bolsonaro’s statement was given to Diário da Região, from São José do Rio Preto (SP), where the deputy received a tribute from the City Council. In his speech, he criticized issues that he sees as flags of the left.

In the interview, Eduardo stated that it is up to the members of the Republicans dissatisfied with the composition with Lula, like Tarcísio, to assess what to do.

“I assess today that the Republicans are a leftist party. […] The conduct of Republicans today, at least their leaders, is from a leftist party “, Eduardo said. ′′ This puts Republicans on an equal footing with leftist parties, I really can’t understand.”

He also said that parliamentarians from the party linked to the church must be “dissatisfied with the position of Marcos Pereira”, who chairs the Republicans and is a licensed bishop of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God.

Eduardo stated that the party’s adherence to the PT occurs at a time when “the Lula government is putting forward all sorts of agendas that are contrary to biblical teachings”, such as the legalization of drugs.

The deputy also mentioned the changes of deputies that the Republicans made in the CPI of the MST to favor the Lula government.

Allied with the Secretary of Women, Sonaira Fernandes (Republicans), and state deputy Gil Diniz (PL), Eduardo is part of the Bolsonarist wing that usually clashes with Tarcísio, demanding the governor’s loyalty to the right and space in the government.

Eduardo claimed that Tarcísio, as governor, can leave the Republicans whenever he wants – he does not have to wait for the party window like the deputies.

The governor has already said that he is against Republicans joining Lula’s base and that he would evaluate with the party his eventual departure. “I would not like to see my party forming part of the government base,” he said.

Since winning the election, Tarcísio has been disputed by other parties, such as PL and PSD.
