Ediane Maria will receive a Palmares medal – 05/07/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

The President of the BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), Aloizio Mercadante, the Secretary of Government of São Paulo, Gilberto Kassab, and the State Deputy Ediane Maria (PSOL-SP) will be some of the authorities contemplated by the Afro Civic Merit Medal -Brazilian, which will be delivered next Friday (12).

Awarded by the Zumbi dos Palmares University and the NGO Afrobras, the honor is intended for personalities who promote initiatives against racism and in favor of the inclusion and appreciation of black people in society. This year’s edition will also celebrate the 135th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Brazil.

The ceremony will be held at the headquarters of Fiesp (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo), in the city of São Paulo, at the invitation of the entity’s president, Josué Gomes.

“This is one of the last trenches of this business community, which also opens up and joins in an effort of capacity building and institutional mobilization latent within this urgent agenda”, says the dean of Palmares, José Vicente.
