Manaus (AM) – Manaus thrashed São Raimundo 5-0, this Sunday (31), at the Arena da Amazônia, and advanced to face Unidos do Alvorada in the semi-finals of the second round of the 2024 Amazonense Championship. Ibiapino, Adenilson, Roney and Renanzinho, two times, they scored for Gavião do Norte.

In the semi-final, which will also be a single game, Gavião Real will meet Aderbal Lana, coach of the Esmeraldina team at the beginning of Barezão and current commander of Unidos do Alvorada, who eliminated Princesa do Solimões in the quarterfinals. At this stage, the only advantage is field control. In case of a tie, the finalist will be determined on penalties. Date, place and time of the match will be announced by the FAF.

In turn, the eliminated São Raimundo says goodbye to the season and will only return to the field in the 2025 Amazonense Championship.

The game

Manaus, who already had the advantage of advancing even with a draw, opened the scoring two minutes into the game. Wendel Nery received it on the left and crossed to the head of Rafael Ibiapino, who deflected it into the back of the goal.

Needing a comeback to qualify, São Raimundo responded in the 10th minute, when Lucas Cordeiro received the ball on the left, tried it from outside the area and Vinicius palmed it away. However, in the next minute, Gavião do Norte was fatal and increased the advantage. Felipe Tiririca launched a counterattack in the middle, rolled it to Renanzinho, and the attacker passed it to Adenilson, who finished first time to put the score 2-0.

Even with the advantage, Manaus continued to be more dangerous. At 20, Renanzinho shot from the left, gained control and, without an angle, sent it towards the goal, but Douglas made the save. Two minutes later, Ibiapiano advanced from the right and crossed for Roney, who, despite falling, finished the ball into the back of the goal to advance the Emerald classification in the first stage.

Already in the 36th minute, Tufão arrived again with danger. Wagner tried it from outside the area and Vinicius made the save. At 38, Kandem found a beautiful pass for Léo Salgado, who in front of the goal, stopped at goalkeeper Vinicius.

After the break, Gavião continued fatally. In the seventh minute, Ibiapino took off on the right and crossed just enough for Renanzinho to head in Douglas’s corner and turn the victory into a rout. Two minutes later, Renanzinho advanced through the middle and shot well, but the ball hit the post.

At 15, Gharib intercepted a pass on the left and left Renanzinho ready to finish neatly, scoring his second of the match and putting the score at 5-0.
