The Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, stated that he should present to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), this Wednesday (24), the draft of a decree with new rules for collectors, shooters and hunters (CACs). The document must determine the reduction in the purchase of weapons per person and a hierarchy of CACs records.

“Why did CACs proliferate? They are not the real ones. They are those who falsely use the registration of CACs to be carried for personal defense, without fulfilling the legal requirements, and also to sell weapons for the Red Command and the PCC. That’s it, illegal business”, said the minister this Monday (22) during an event promoted by the Lide group.

Dino emphasized that there will not be a generalized confiscation of weapons. “I respect the vast majority of those who carry weapons, because they are in accordance with the law. Now, this minority cannot continue with these deleterious practices, because it constitutes a threat to society. It is not a threat to the government. That is why we are building this new normative, weighted and balanced framework. There will be no widespread confiscation,” he added.
