Documents found on the cell phone of a former Bolsonaro adviser indicate a coup plan; see full text – 06/16/2023 – Power

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Federal Supreme Court), raised this Friday (16) the secrecy of the Federal Police report with analysis of the content found on the Army cell phone Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former aide to orders of Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The messages retrieved from Cid’s device show dialogues in which interlocutors, officers of the force, debated the use of the Armed Forces against the result of the elections won by Lula (PT). Part of the material was revealed by Veja magazine.

One of the people who exchanged dialogues with Bolsonaro’s former assistant was Colonel Jean Lawand Junior, recently appointed to the diplomatic representation of Brazil in the United States, in Washington. The appointment was canceled this Friday by the Army command.

“Cid, for God’s sake, man. He [Bolsonaro] give the order that the people are with him, man. If the guys don’t comply, that’s their problem. The Brazilian Army ends if these guys don’t comply with the order of the Supreme Commander. How am I going to accept an order from a General, who did not receive, who did not accept the Commander’s order. For God’s sake, Citizen. For God’s sake, do something, man. Convince him to do it,” Lawand said in one of the audios, according to the PF transcript.

On the cell phone of Bolsonaro’s former adviser, there is also material with the thesis of the lawyer and emeritus professor at Mackenzie Ives Gandra Martins University, according to which article 142 of the Constitution would allow the Armed Forces to intervene in the event of a conflict between the Three Powers.

According to the PF, Ives Gandra’s studies “served as the basis for the preparation of a draft decree of State of Siege and Guarantee of Law and Order – GLO, identified in Mauro Cid’s WhatsApp application”,

Deputy Fabio Shor, responsible for the case, claims that the material found on Cid’s cell phone points to the attempt to “materialize in the real world the objectives” previously defended on networks by the criminal association investigated in the digital militias inquiry.

This inquiry investigates Cid, Jair Bolsonaro, Anderson Torres and other Bolsonarists involved in anti-democratic events such as the live on July 29, 2021 in which Bolsonaro attacked the electronic voting machines, in the leak of the secret inquiry into the hacker attack on the TSE and in the organization of the 7 September 2021 and 2022.

“The digital militia reverberated and amplified the idea that the presidential elections were rigged through multichannels, encouraging its followers to “resist” in front of barracks and installations of the Armed Forces, in order to create the right environment for a federal intervention commanded by the armed forces. military”, says the PF.
