After the Federal Police carried out search and seizure warrants at addresses linked to Senator Marcos do Val (Podemos-ES), this Thursday (15), the congressman commented on the case in an interview with CNN Brazil and said the searches could be configured as an abuse of power. “The way it was done, the abuse of authority in my office, and the seizing of equipment in the Senate already constitutes an abuse of power”, she declared.

The senator also said that he has nothing to worry about, and added that if “I had the intention of participating in something of this size, of this gravity, I would not go to Minister Alexandre de Moraes in December to ask if I could participate in a meeting” .

Do Val said he had been waiting for this operation since April, after revealing a series of accusations against the system. “As I had already been denouncing Flávio Dino, who always used blackmail, I received information that, in April, this was going to happen. But when we set up the CPMI and, in the last session, I showed a video where Dino recognizes that he has prevaricated, I already knew that it would be this week or next. Being alone facing the system, I knew there was going to be a reprisal”, said the senator.

The PF action took place three days after Marcos do Val made a post on a social network stating that authorities received prior information about the January 8 demonstrations, which ended in acts of vandalism against the Three Powers. The senator’s account on the social network was suspended. Despite this, it is still unknown whether there is a relationship between the post and the operation.
