The RAM brand, from the Stellantis group, enters the compact pickup segment with the Rampage. The new model is produced in Goiana (PE), where it shares the assembly line with Fiat Toro.

The utility, which hits stores in August, has versions with 2.0 turbo diesel engines (170 hp) or gasoline (272 hp). All options feature a double cabin, nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Differently from what happened with medium-sized pickups, the more affordable versions of the Rampage are turbodiesel, with prices starting at R$ 240,000. The equipment package includes seven airbags, a multimedia center with a 12.3-inch screen, LED headlights and lane keeping monitoring, among other standard items.

The most expensive version is the R/T, with a suggested value of R$ 270 thousand. Its 2.0 turbo gasoline engine is called Hurricane 4 and is produced in Italy. The automaker claims that this option starts from scratch and reaches 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

The interior space is good for four adults and equivalent to that offered by its main competitor, the Ford Maverick (from R$ 244,900).
