Minister of Justice sent the GDF an alert about calls for demonstrations on September 7
The Acting Governor of the Federal District, Celina Leão (PP), created an Institutional Mobilization Office to prepare and execute the security plan for the September 7th holiday in Brasília.
The group focusing on the date was created after the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, sent the Government of the Federal District (GDF) an alert about calls for demonstrations on the date.
Celina Leão told the column Grande Angular that Governor Ibaneis Rocha — on a trip to the United States — determined the creation of the group to guarantee security on Independence Day.
The acting governor said she invited federal agencies to participate in the planning. This list includes the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), the Federal Police (PF) and the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin).
In a letter addressed to Governor Ibaneis Rocha and to the Public Security Secretary of the Federal District, Sandro Avelar, Dino sent 10 videos “which deal with alleged articulated demonstrations and scheduled to take place on September 7, 2023”.
In the document, the minister informed that he sent the images for “evaluation and [adoção das] necessary preventive measures.
Celina will hand deliver the invitation to join the Institutional Mobilization Office to the executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Ricardo Cappelli, at the end of this Thursday afternoon (31).
“The governor is on a mission, but we discuss the government every day, together. Ibaneis thought it prudent for us to create a working group to monitor September 7, with various bodies and secretariats, in addition to invitations to federal bodies. The Secretariat of Public Security will command the technical-operational group”,
commented Celina, in an interview with the column Grande Angular.
The first meeting of the institutional cabinet is scheduled for next Monday (4/8), at 10 am.
