Dino preaches caution in investigation of hostility to Moraes – 07/21/2023 – Politics

The Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, criticized Operation Lava Jato by defending caution in investigating the Federal Police about hostility to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), at Rome’s international airport on Friday (14).

“I would like to make a legal explanation of the reason for our caution. Because there was a lot of cooperation in the scope of the so-called Operation Lava Jato [internacionais] direct and we consider that the treaties, the international conventions must be complied with”, said Dino when asked about the progress of the investigation by the Federal Police in a press interview this Friday (21).

President Lula and allies have always criticized, including in court, the negotiations between Lava Jato investigators and foreign authorities, which included complaints to the STF. The PT questioned the informality of the contacts, for example, in the agreement with the contractor Odebrecht, which involved the United States and Switzerland.

Regarding the case of Moraes, Dino said that “images exist, but they are not available yet because this process needs to be concluded”. “We are working together.”

The holder of Justice referred to the international legal cooperation initiated by the Brazilian authorities with the Italian Justice to have access to the material.
