Dias Toffoli is hospitalized in Brasilia with Covid-19; there is no forecast for discharge – 05/18/2023 – Power

The minister of the STF (Federal Supreme Court) Dias Toffoli was admitted this Wednesday (17) to a hospital in Brasília with a diagnosis of Covid-19.
According to the hospital’s medical bulletin, the DF Star, Toffoli is doing well and is being treated with antiviral and symptomatic drugs. There is no forecast for discharge.
The bulletin is signed by the head of the medical team, Ludhmila Hajjar, and the hospital director, Allison Borges.
Because of the hospitalization, the minister will not participate in the session of this Thursday (18) of the Supreme Court.
The court will continue the trial of former President Fernando Collor, who was accused by the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) of the crimes of passive corruption, money laundering and criminal organization.
Toffoli has been a STF minister since 2009 and was appointed to the court in President Lula’s second term. He presided over the court between 2018 and 2020.
