Deputy Josenildo announces R$300,000 resource for Império do Povo – News of Brazil

The federal deputy Josenildo Abrantes announced resources of R$300 thousand for the Empire of the People Samba Schoolfrom Santana, with two hundred and fifty thousand for the Fabricando Carnaval project and fifty thousand for the production of the association’s parade.
Percussion, cutting and sewing, artistic welding, decoration and costume making are among the qualification courses that the Escola de Samba Império do Povo offers to the Santanense community, through the Fabricando Carnaval Project, the initiative being one of the organization’s social responsibilities from momo.
When making the announcement, the federal deputy highlighted that the R$50,000 was the result of donations from supporters of his mandate. The R$ 250 thousand is from a parliamentary amendment, destined for Fabricando Carnaval. There are more than three hundred people, including children, young people and adults, annually benefited from the project.
The children get into the rhythm of samba and receive percussion lessons, and also start to compose the school drums. Young people and adults learn everything from building floats to making costumes that are donated to players in the community, and coloring Avenida Ivaldo Veras during the “Aguia Furiosa – Verde e Branca” parade.
“In addition to beauty, culture, entertainment and boosting the economy. Strengthening projects such as Fabricando Carnaval, by Império do Povo, is recognizing the social work of the association and its importance among hundreds of families who have the opportunity to work in this action, learning, income and even therapy”, highlighted Josenildo, stressing that his mandate seeks to act on issues that favor the collective and contribute to the social and economic development of Amapá.
Regarding the commitments made by the parliamentarian, the president of Império do Povo, Wesley Barros, highlighted that, “every resource that Império do Povo receives is directed towards promoting culture and providing opportunities for the carnival community to build a legacy of deliveries for the entire Amapá society. A legacy that goes beyond the culture of Carnival, but which also reflects on education, the economy, the defense of important causes and the fight against prejudice.”
The Champion of the Amapá Carnival 2023 Access Group, brings this year’s samba theme “A Folia da Mãe de Deus da Piedade”, narrating the story of the traditional Festa da Piedade, held in the quilombola community of Igarapé do Lago, in the municipality of Santana . The plot seeks to draw society’s attention to the fight against racism, prejudice and religious intolerance.

During the administration of Governor Waldez Góes, we allocated structure and resource agreements so that city halls could hold their events, we provided an area for the construction of A Banda’s headquarters. For Carnival 2023, the management of Waldez Góes guaranteed the amount of R$4.5 million for the Samba schools parade, the result of coordination with senator Davi Alcolumbre.
