the federal deputy Dorinaldo Malafaia informed this Tuesday morning, the 11th, that Amapá is a Brazilian highlight, in terms of vaccination coverage, being the only federative unit that has managed to vaccinate, so far, 70% of its population.
The parliamentarian assessed that the performance of Amapá is due to the effort made by the state health surveillance authorities, behavior that comes from the height of the covid-19 pandemic, when Malafaia himself directed the SVS.
The deputy, who has an academic background in nursing, also noted that the good performance in vaccination in the state also stems from programs designed to reach the largest number of people, such as ‘Vacina em Casa’.
But despite the positive points, in recent months Amapá has had an abrupt drop in vaccination numbers, because strangely the population has stopped responding to so-called vaccines, precisely in a period when there are enough immunizers for everyone.
“Only Amapá and a northeastern municipality, whose name I don’t remember, managed to reach the mark of 70% of their populations, as recorded by IstoÉ Saúde magazine. But the important thing is to keep vaccinating, not just vaccinating momentarily. That is why the Ministry of Health is creating a large vaccination front at the national level”concluded the parliamentarian.
