Manaus (AM) – State deputy Mário César Filho (União Brasil) demanded, this Tuesday (14), the application of the law that prohibits the sale of plastic bags with advertisements by establishments in the Amazon.
The ban is the result of a law, proposed by state deputy Sinésio Campos (PT) and approved in December 2022.
For the deputy and chairman of the Consumer Protection Commission, many establishments do not obey state law.
During his first days in the presidency of the CDC, the politician investigated the abusive sale of the material and, as a result, announced a bill requiring the display of information in supermarkets about the ban on the sale of the product.
The measure aims to bring more publicity to the law, allowing more consumers to know it and guarantee their rights.
“As president of the CDC, I will not tolerate the non-compliance with one of the basic principles of the law, which is the right of access to information. We will act energetically with inspections in commercial establishments in the state”. Procon-Amazonas will be fundamental in this fight, highlighted the congressman.
