Manaus (AM) – State deputy Thiago Abrahim (União Brasil) presented bill No. 931/2023, which obliges mobile internet and broadband companies, in the post-paid modality, to provide graphs with the average daily record of the speed of receiving and sending messages data. This measure seeks to promote transparency, information and improve the quality of services offered to consumers.
“It is important that we ensure consumer rights. Today, we still pay a lot for bad internet and this needs to be corrected. The graph with internet data that reaches the consumer is a measure so that companies can fulfill agreed plans”,
explained Abraham.
According to the article, data may be sent by post, email provided by the consumer or any other means agreed with the company.
“This bill also aims to achieve harmony between companies providing internet services and their consumers, by allowing control over their expenses. Access to information regarding the quality of the service provided is necessary, especially in relation to the service in municipalities in our interior, where the internet is very poor”, he pointed out.
The União Brasil deputy highlighted the importance of quality internet for distance learning, which after the Covid-19 pandemic is increasingly sought after and necessary, especially in municipalities without in-person higher education.
“Currently, education goes beyond printed books. It is possible to attend online classes, consult handouts and digital books (e-books), all available on the internet. However, to take advantage of these features, it is essential to have a reliable and quality internet connection,” he concluded.
