Deputy alleges that Lira accelerated the processing of the tax reform to go on a cruise

Federal deputy Marcel van Hattem (Novo-RS) claimed, this Wednesday (12), that the mayor, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), accelerated the processing of the tax reform to participate in a cruise. The Chamber approved the tax reform on the 7th, during a week of concentrated effort called by Lira.

“During this week of concentrated effort, the first day, which was supposed to be remote voting, turns out to be face-to-face. Deputies with commitments, including the discussion of tax reform, at the grassroots had to hastily buy tickets at prices of gold to be here in Brasilia, to attend the whims of his highness, deputy Arthur Lira, because he had, yes, of course, a cruise to embark this week to attend Wesley Safadão in the Bahamas”, stated Marcel van Hattem when speaking during the session of the Congress this Wednesday.

The mayor traveled abroad and would have embarked with his family on a cruise promoted by singer Wesley Safadão. “I make special mention of the senators because the tax reform proposal approved last week is now going to the Senate so that President Arthur Lira could be in the Bahamas this week on Wesley Safadão’s cruise”, pointed out Van Hattem.

Senator Magno Malta (PL-ES) also criticized the mayor’s trip. “The President of this House – currently so well presided over by Deputy Marcos Pereira –, the other is dancing forró inside Wesley Safadão’s cruise, dancing forró inside. The recess of the Chamber is scheduled to take place between the 18th and 31st of July. Despite the concentrated effort, focused on the agendas considered decisive, in practice the Congress still has activities scheduled for this week.

Other parliamentarians would have traveled to the same cruise, such as deputy Elmar Nascimento (União-BA) and senator Weverton Rocha (PDT-MA), reported the newspaper O Globo. The cruise left Florida, in the United States, this Monday (10) towards the Bahamas. In addition to Safadão, the cruise will have performances by Léo Santana, Bell Marques, Tirullipa, among others.
