The Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, held a bilateral meeting in Brussels this Tuesday (18) with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and expressed her intention to contribute to the Amazon Fund.

According to Lula, she “told of the country’s intention to approve, in the Danish budget, a contribution to the Amazon Fund”which should join the country with Norway, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom, which have already announced contributions to the fund.
In addition, the PT invited the Danish prime minister to visit Brazil soon. “I was happy to meet her and we are going to work to improve the relationship between our countries”he concluded.
Created in 2008, the Amazon Fund was initially financed by Germany and Norway and was paralyzed during the government of Jair Bolsonaro. After its reactivation, the United States, European Union and United Kingdom pledged to join the mechanism. (ANSA).
