Deltan Dallagnol announces affiliation with the Novo party

Former Lava Jato prosecutor and former federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol announced this Saturday morning (30) on his social networks his affiliation with the Novo party. “Deltan Dallagnol is New. And the Novo has the courage to face those in power”, says a post made by the caption and shared by the former deputy.

According to columnist Lauro Jardim, from the newspaper “O Globo”, the former prosecutor’s wife, Fernanda Dallagnol, also joined the party. She is tipped to run for mayor of Curitiba in the 2024 elections as an alternative to Deltan, if he is prevented from contesting the election due to the decision that removed him from the Chamber of Deputies in May.

“It is still too early to talk about candidacy, but my affiliation is a step in that direction. I want to be where I can make the biggest difference for my country”, Fernanda told the column.

On the 18th, Dallagnol announced that he had given up appealing to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to try to reverse the revocation of his mandate. “There is no justice in the Supreme Court,” he said in a statement.

“I have always fought for justice, but unfortunately I do not recognize it in the decisions taken by the majority of the STF today. The STF is destroying the democracy it was supposed to protect, with increasingly arbitrary decisions”, he added.
