Deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR) said on Tuesday night (16) that he was outraged by the decision of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) that revoked his mandate and stated that an “unprecedented revenge” against “law enforcement officers who dared to fight corruption”.
“344,917,000 voices from Paraná and millions of Brazilians were silenced tonight with a single stroke of the pen, in defiance of the law and justice. fight corruption”, he said in a note, citing the vote he obtained to obtain a vacancy in the Chamber of Deputies.
“But no obstacle will stop me from continuing to fight for my life purpose of serving God and the Brazilian people”, added the former coordinator of the Lava Jato task force.
The TSE unanimously revoked the registration of the candidacy and, consequently, Deltan’s mandate.
The action is the result of a representation by the Associação Brasil da Esperança (PT, PC do B and PV) and the PMN, who claimed that Deltan could not have left his career as a public prosecutor to enter politics because he responded to investigations, disciplinary complaints and requests for action from the CNMP (National Council of the Public Prosecutor’s Office) —which supervises the functional duties of the members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Deltan can appeal. The case, ultimately, may reach the STF (Federal Supreme Court).
