The retired governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), will hand over his cell phone to the Federal Police (PF) on Monday (23) morning, according to his defense, “to show his unrestricted collaboration with the investigations” and “ so that the decision of Minister Alexandre de Moraes is fully complied with”.

On Friday (20) the Federal Police carried out a search and seizure warrant at the home of the retired governor, at the Palácio do Buriti, headquarters of the Federal District government, and at the former law firm of Ibaneis.

“The governor was out of Brasília when his residence was searched, but he insists that his telephone be investigated, because, as already mentioned, he has nothing to hide and is the most interested in fully investigating the facts”, said lawyer Cleber Lopes in statements reproduced by Brazil Agency.

Ibaneis is investigated in an inquiry opened by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), who also authorized the searches, to investigate the conduct of security authorities in the Federal District in the acts of vandalism that took place on January 8. The governor was removed from office by Moraes for a period of 90 days.
