According to lawyer Eumar Novacki, however, Torres is willing to collaborate with investigations into the January 8 coup acts.

“There is no possibility of a tip. What Anderson will do is cooperate to clarify, as soon as possible, the facts that led to the hateful acts of January 8″, Novacki said during a press conference called by the defense and held about 12 hours after the former -Minister and former Secretary of Justice and Public Security of the Federal District leave the Military Police battalion, where he spent almost four months in prison, in Brasília.

Investigated on suspicion of omission in connection with the investigation of the acts of January 8, Torres was arrested on January 14, on a preventive basis, by order of the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes. Yesterday (11), Moraes authorized Torres to be released, subject to the obligation to comply with a series of precautionary measures, such as the use of an electronic ankle bracelet and the delivery of their passports.

Novacki praised the performance of the STF and Minister Alexandre de Moraes. According to the lawyer, the Court adopted the necessary measures to contain the “escalation of violence”. And, at the right time, he was touched by the arguments of the defense, which claimed that the maintenance of Torres prison was no longer justified.

“I reaffirm our respect for the Federal Supreme Court. We trust and believe in Justice”, added the lawyer. “What we sought was that, within the constitutional guarantees, he could respond to the process in freedom. And the reporting minister [Alexandre de Moraes] he had this sensitivity and, rightly, allowed him to go home”, said Novacki before reaffirming that, during the time that Torres was imprisoned, his state of health deteriorated, requiring psychiatric follow-up and medication.
