Benefits

Withdrawals can be made through the FGTS application, from the Severance Indemnity Fund

Workers who have a balance of quotas from the Social Integration Program (PIS) and the Public Servant Asset Training Program (Pasep), the salary bonus, have until this Saturday (05), to withdraw the amounts.

Withdrawals can be made through the FGTS application, from the Severance Pay Fund. Beneficiaries do not need to attend bank branches.

According to Caixa Económica Federal, after the deadline, the amounts not withdrawn will be transferred to the National Treasury. Currently, there are around 10.4 million workers with a PIS-Pasep balance available for withdrawal, totaling R$ 25.5 billion.

Who is entitled to the salary allowance?

Those who worked with the Work and Social Security Card (CTPS) signed in the private sector or as a public servant in the period from 1971 to 1988, and who have not yet withdrawn the PIS-Pasep quotas, are entitled to withdraw the quotas.

If the balance is not withdrawn by August 5, the resources will be transferred from the FGTS to the National Treasury. In this case, interested parties will have up to 5 years to make a new withdrawal request to the Union.

How to query and withdraw

Beneficiaries with a balance of PIS-Pasep quotas do not need to go to a bank branch to find out if they are entitled to the withdrawal or even to receive the amount.

In the FGTS Application, which can be downloaded for free, the worker already has on the main screen the option to consult the balance available for withdrawal from the resources.

In case of a positive value, to request the withdrawal in the application itself, just select the message “You have withdrawal available”, then click on “Request PIS/Pasep withdrawal”. The worker must choose the form of withdrawal (account credit or in person), verify his data and select “Confirm withdrawal”.

In the account credit option, the balance will be credited to the bank account of any institution indicated by the worker, at no cost.

In the case of a deceased worker, the heir beneficiary can access their own FGTS Application and request the withdrawal in the option “My Withdrawals”, then “Other Withdrawal Situations” and then choose the option “PIS/Pasep – Death of the Worker” . It is necessary to attach the requested documents and confirm the request.

If the worker fits into any FGTS withdrawal hypothesis and has a PIS-Pasep account, the balance of that account is released together with the FGTS.

What happens to the amount after the term expires?

The deadline of August 5th for requesting a withdrawal through the FGTS Application was established by Public Call Notice MTE nº 1/2023, published on the last June 7th, in the Federal Official Gazette.

After this period, the amounts not withdrawn will be transferred to the National Treasury and interested parties will still be able to request them from the Union within a period of up to five years.

The procedures for requesting reimbursement, after the transfer of resources to the National Treasury, will still be disclosed in a joint ordinance of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning and Budget.
