David Almeida announces major deliveries in 2024

Manaus (AM) – The year 2023 was particularly challenging: due to the drop in revenue and the historic drought, the biggest that Manaus has faced in at least 121 years. But with partnerships and efficient management, the year ending was also one of achievements. And for 2024, an agenda of new deliveries and achievements for the capital of Amazonas.

“We overcame difficulties and advanced in the provision of public services, and this was only possible with partnerships, unity and efficiency. For 2024, our goal is to continue delivering even better services, an increasingly better city to live in. This is what the population deserves, this is our commitment”,

highlights Mayor David Almeida.

Municipal management ends 2023 with 62 completely new UBSs delivered to the population; 334 schools revitalized, construction of daycare centers; ten renovated fairs; 317 new buses, with air conditioning and security cameras; new road complex; in addition to important advances in social assistance and other areas of municipal administration.

In housing, another revolution. With the re-creation of the Secretariat of Housing and Land Affairs (Semhaf), Manaus City Hall launched the largest program in the capital’s history: more than 20 thousand families will be served, with new housing projects or renovations, own investments and in partnership with the federal government.

In infrastructure, the Prefeito José Fernandes road complex, on Avenida das Torres, was delivered in record time, six months ahead of schedule. At the Produtor roundabout, the Rei Pelé road complex continues with advanced works. Additionally, road widening and improvements have improved traffic; resurfacing of more than 2 thousand streets, among other mobility works.

The capital of Amazonas also gained new leisure areas in 2023, which also contribute to promoting tourism. In addition to the renovation and construction of squares, the City Hall inaugurated the first stage of the Amazonino Mendes Park, located between the North and East zones; and the Zezinho Corrêa Beach House, a new tourist attraction in the city in Ponta Negra.

In the center of Manaus, the Mirante Lúcia Almeida complex, Largo Ilha de São Vicente and Casarão Thiago de Mello are in the final stages of construction. In the Industrial District area, work continues on the Parque Encontro das Águas Rosa Almeida. This is a project by architect Oscar Niemeyer, a place from which you can admire the emblematic Meeting of the Waters – of the Negro and Solimões rivers.

Internally, the current management has not neglected the valorization of civil servants, guaranteed promotions, responded to historical demands, called up candidates approved in competitions carried out in past administrations, rescued certain areas, historically forgotten, such as the Municipal Guard and the Guardianship Councils.

Recognition

And all this investment, translated into development in Manauaras, has been recognized, nationally and internationally.

Manaus was elected by the Ministry of Health six consecutive times as the capital with the best primary care; the European parliament, with the approval of UNESCO, awarded the title South American City of Sports 2024; international publication chose Manaus as one of the ten cities to visit. In addition to these recognitions, others in the areas of employability, tax management, social security, public cleaning.

In 2024

For 2024, Manaus City Hall continues to expand and revitalize the areas of health, education, infrastructure, fairs and markets, social assistance, public transport.

And at the beginning of 2024, large deliveries. One of them in February, the Mirante Lúcia Almeida complex, Largo Ilha de São Vicente and Casarão Thiago de Mello.

The second stage of Parque Amazonino Mendes is also planned for the first semester; new viaducts will have work started; in addition to more fairs, schools and revitalized UBSs; it is a new package of roads to be resurfaced.
