Datafolha: See segmentation between petistas and bolsonaristas – 06/04/2023 – Politics

A Datafolha survey points out that 30% of voters say they are PT, while 22% define themselves as Bolsonarists. The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points.

According to the survey, they are among the segments in which most people say they are PT: the Northeasterners (42%), those who attended elementary school (40%) and those who earn up to two minimum wages (39%).

The percentage of those who claim to be Bolsonarists stands out in segments such as southerners (28%) and evangelicals (29%).

Datafolha interviewed 2,028 people aged 161 or over in 126 cities, from Wednesday (29) to Thursday (30). The margin of error varies by segment.

Respondents were asked how they defined themselves, with 1 being a Bolsonarist, 2 being closer to Bolsonarism, 3 being neutral, 4 being more aligned with PT and 5 being PT.

Income

The range of those who call themselves PT members among people who earn up to two minimum wages (39%) is greater than that of those who define themselves as Bolsonaristas (19%). The margin of error in this segment is plus or minus 3 percentage points.

level of education

Among those with higher education, a segment with a margin of error of 5 percentage points, the number of those who say they are neutral stands out (30%). Among those with elementary education, the share of those who call themselves PT is 40%, while 23% say they are Bolsonarists. The margin of error is 4 percentage points.

country region

In the South, those who claim to be Bolsonarists account for 28% of respondents, compared to 21% of those who claim to be PT members. The difference is within the segment’s margin of error of 6 percentage points. In the Northeast, the difference between Bolsonaristas and PTistas is outside the margin of error, which is 4 points for the region: 42% define themselves as PT and 14% as Bolsonaristas.

Religion

Among evangelicals, those who call themselves Bolsonarists are 29%, while 23% define themselves as PT. The segment’s margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points. The share that claims to be PT among Catholics —a group with a margin of error of 3 points— is 36%, compared to 19% who claim to be Bolsonarists.

age group

Among those between 16 and 24 years old, 14% say they are Bolsonarists, 26% PT supporters and 30% define themselves as neutral. The values ​​change when looking at the group of those aged 60 or over: among the oldest, 27% say they are Bolsonarist, 27% define themselves as PT and another 13% say they are neutral. The margin of error for the different age groups is plus or minus 5 percentage points.

Gender

The percentage of men and women who claim to be Bolsonarists is the same: 22%. The percentage of those who claim to be PT members is 33% among women and 28% among men. The margin of error for both segments is 3 percentage points.

Color

Among pardos, 31% say they are PT and 22% classify themselves as Bolsonaristas. Among whites, the difference between those who claim to be Bolsonarists (26%) and PT (23%) is within the segment’s margin of error, which is 4 points.

general population

Considering the result of the sample as a whole, which has a margin of error of two percentage points, the share of those who call themselves PT supporters is 30% and 10% consider themselves closer to PTism, while 22% define themselves as Bolsonaristas along with others 9% who see themselves closer to Bolsonarism. Those who declare themselves neutral are 22%.
