Brazilian football player Daniel Alves, convicted of rape in Barcelona, was granted provisional freedom by Spanish courts. To do so, the former Brazilian national team player will need to pay a bail of 1 million euros (R$5.4 million).

Conditions for release include handing over his Brazilian and Spanish passports so he cannot leave Spain. In addition to these conditions, Daniel Alves also has the obligation to appear weekly in court, which also imposed a precautionary measure, preventing Daniel Alves from approaching the victim.
The Brazilian’s defense was not available to comment. There is still an appeal against the decision, which was not unanimous due to the dissenting vote of one of the judges.
