The impeached deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR) criticized, on the night of this Thursday (8), the decision of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) that condemned him to reimburse values of daily and air tickets when he worked in the task force of Operation Lava Jet. The Court denied an appeal by the former prosecutor’s defense by 6 votes to 5.

In the video in which he criticizes the decision, Dallagnol says that he has been politically persecuted and that he is being charged for a resource used to carry out the operation’s work. TCU claims that the model set up to keep the task force running generated losses of BRL 2.8 million to public coffers.

“They are charging me for the money spent for Lava Jato to work, the money for per diems, tickets that were paid for other prosecutors to come to work in Curitiba every week and recover more than R$ 15 billion”, he said in the recording published in the social media.

According to him, the amounts spent were considered legal by the TCU’s technical area, but that a “political part” in the court wants to “end with the assets of those who fought corruption”.

“In addition to the expense being considered legal, and the fact that I did not receive these amounts, I also did not pay, I did not order payment, I did not authorize, I did not ask, I did not opine. It is something between prosecutors and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR)”, he added.
