Federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR) commented this Monday (22) on the precautionary removal of the judge of the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba, Eduardo Appio, responsible for the Lava Jato processes.

“TRF4 has just removed the militant judge ‘LUL22’ from Lava Jato. The Court found that the connection with threats made to the son of the judge Marcelo Malucelli was made by Appio – absolutely unbelievable conduct on the part of a federal judge, capable of generating dismissal” , tweeted Dallagnol, whose candidacy was rejected by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) last week.

The judge was removed on a precautionary basis by the Council of the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF-4) on suspicion of having made a threatening call to the son of Judge Marcelo Malucelli, João Eduardo Barreto Malucelli.

Appio is critical of the defunct Lava Jato task force and admitted this Monday that he used, between 2021 and 2022, the acronym LUL22 to access the electronic system of Federal Justice.

Senator Sergio Moro (União-PR), who occupied the same chair on the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba at the height of Operation Lava Jato, also commented on the removal. “I had never heard, in Brazilian judicial history, of a case in which the judge of a case would have called the son of a judge, who was reviewing his sentences, pretending to be a third person to collect personal data and make veiled threats. Really… “.
