Senator Eliziane Gama (PSD-MA), rapporteur for the CPMI on January 8, said in an interview with the newspaper The globe that there will be arrest warrants for those who eventually lie in the statements given to the commission.

“If you have false testimony at the CPI, a request for arrest will be made. We are not going to accept jeopardizing the work of the commission. And I, as rapporteur, will not accept thinking that the commission is gloating or trying to manipulate or instrumentalize the collegiate”, he said. the senator.

In the same interview, Eliziane Gama, who received criticism from opposition parliamentarians for being seen as aligned with the government and close to the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, spoke about the possibility of calling former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to testify at the CPMI.

“We are going to present our work plan. If we see that there is a need to call the former president, we will,” he said.

At the same time, Eliziane Gama classified the former President of the Republic as “the greatest opinion maker in the country, due to the strategic position he has” and that his positions “have an impact for good and for bad in the country”.
